Youth Lead

Could you be our next Youth Lead? 

We have an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to build on and develop what is already a dynamic youth ministry, an integral part of our church, working with close to 100 young people.  

Our young people are already leading, serving and shaping church life at Christ Central – we’re looking for someone passionate about young people to walk alongside them and help take what’s already a thriving youth ministry even further. If you have a heart to see the next generation come to know Jesus and see our area transformed for God’s glory, we’d love to hear from you. 

About our youth 

With a strong foundation of faith and its outward expression, our young people have a culture of active participation, leadership, and engagement – both within youth and across the wider church. They lead worship in their own band, co-run our youth Instagram (@ccyouthredhill), and serve in other areas too, from children’s work to AV. This is a role that comes with a head-start: an established, close-knit team of volunteers and a group of young people who are hungry to grow and to lead. 

About the role 

You’ll take the reins of an existing programme across our two youth groups, meeting on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings, and lead and develop a team of committed youth work volunteers. You’ll shape strategy and curriculum for the whole 12–18 age range, oversee safeguarding for the youth ministry, and be a visible, trusted presence for young people, parents and volunteers alike. 

You’ll also be a key member of our staff team, and will support the wider mission of the church through team meetings, shared activities, services and events. This isn’t a role on the edges of the church, it’s central to it. 

About you 

• Passionate about seeing young people grow in their personal relationship with Christ 

• Committed to an empowering, youth-led approach – engaging young people in leadership and active contribution 

• Have a strong, tangible track record of engaging young people, including those outside the church 

• Either professional experience as a youth worker, or extensive and consistent experience volunteering with young people 

• A team player with a heart to collaborate, both within the church and beyond it 

• Comfortable leading and nurturing volunteer teams, with strong organisational skills 

• You may hold a qualification in youth work, ministry or theology, but it’s not essential

About the post 

• Salary range: £20,910 – £22,110 (based on FTE £34,850 – £36,850 pro rata), to be set dependent on experience and qualifications, plus a non-contributory pension 

• Hours: Part time, 21 hours / week 

• Location: Christ Central, 3 London Road, Redhill, Surrey RH1 1LQ 

• There is an occupational requirement for applicants to be a practising Christian who agrees with the Evangelical Alliance Basis of Faith 

• This post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check
