Our main leadership is an eldership team (pastors) of six men who, along with our deacons and Connect group leaders, care for the church.
Nik & Claire Ball
Nik took on the responsibility of leading the eldership team in May 2011. He started working part time for the church officially at that point and from 2018 became a full time employee of the church. Claire works full time in Westminster as well as overseeing the operations of Christ Central’s coffee shop, West Central which is her other full-time job. Nik and Claire have three children, Ralph, Leon and Portia.
Mark & Lucy Hope
Mark and Lucy have three children, Olivia, Seth and Dulcie and moved from Bletchingley to Horley in August 2019. Mark is one of the founding members of the church and worked in ‘Marketing’ for a good few years where he met Lucy who works for a pharmaceutical company. Mark has served the church in a variety of capacities over many years and was appointed as an Elder in 2012 and is a full time employee of the church. Mark and Lucy are in Horley to start a new Christ Central site.
Alisdair & Kath Semple
Al and Kath have been married for 27 years and they have four children – one is married and has made Al and Kath very proud grandparents, the other 3 are either studying or working in various locations around the U.K. Al was employed full time by the church from 1997 and lead the eldership team for much of that time. Before working for the church, he was a science teacher and spent seven years working for a large pharmaceutical company, Al is now studying for a Masters and works for the NHS. Kath also works for the church and is a deacon, responsible for the administration. She is a keen walker and triathlele, in the church she seems to be involved in most things. They have been part of the church since it was planted in 1991 and have lived in Redhill since 1995.
Hitesh & Lucy Mistry
PICTURE TO FOLLOW
Hitesh and Lucy have 4 children Esther, Joel, Abigail and Lois and live in Merstham near Redhill. Hitesh was appointed as an Elder in September 2014 following a remarkable 9 years which Hitesh and Lucy shared with the church recently (see our video’s on-line, well worth a watch!) Both Hitesh and Lucy are engineers which means they are extremely clever. They have travelled far and wide since being married and Hitesh loves nothing more than to cycle or run to work which is strange as he owns a car.
Guy & Gilly McGlashan

Guy and Gilly have 2 children, Megan and Drew and 2 dogs and live in Merstham near Redhill. Guy was appointed as an Elder in September 2015. Guy, Gilly and family have been members of Christ Central for 15 years and have been involved in many areas of church life from leading Connect Groups, playing in the worship band through to hosting many events including our firework evening at their house. Gilly is a Deacon and is responsible for Pastoral Care. In their spare time (tongue in cheek) Guy is the COO of a bank and Gilly studying floristry.
Steve & Tricia Stringer
PICTURE TO FOLLOW
Steve became an Elder in 2017. Steve and Tricia are very special – although they have American accents they have spent the majority of their lives serving God not in America. Their 2 wonderful children, Luc and Elizabeth also have American accents, but even more perplexing is that they have never lived there until very recently, when they both went there to study at University. Steve is Christ Central’s missions pastor and Tricia does so much that the internet isn’t big enough to contain all the words we’d need to publish.
